Turkey Point Island Events

The Turkey Point Property Owners Association (TPPOA) recognizes that promoting social activities for residents has and continues to be a fun way we all take part in our community. Resident volunteerism/participation in events is one of our enduring traditions.

Community Events Recap: Spring and Summer Fun on Turkey Point Island

As the seasons shift and warmer weather beckons, Turkey Point has been abuzz with a series of vibrant community events that bring neighbors together and celebrates the spirit of togetherness. From bunny hunts to paddle days, here’s a recap of what’s been happening and what’s on the horizon:

TPI Bunny Hunt: March 18th-22nd

Kicking off the spring festivities, the TPI Bunny Hunt was a delightful event where residents could showcase their creativity by placing bunnies in their yard and residents of all ages could hunt for them. Each bunny added a touch of charm to the neighborhood. If you participated, please know your bunny brought smiles to all those who passed by!

Turkey Point Beautification Day: April 20th

On April 20th, Turkey Point residents came together for Beautification Day. Armed with enthusiasm and gardening/construction tools, volunteers met at Boyd and Boyd for coffee and donuts before spreading out to enhance our community’s green spaces. Their efforts not only beautify our surroundings but also foster a stronger sense of pride and connection among neighbors. A significant improvement was the repair of our community shed, which had a huge hole in the roof and required an enormous amount of cleaning and sorting after rain and animals had done some damage. A BIG thank you to Mike Billings for organizing the clean-up efforts and to Jeff Abdow, Rick Feldman, Jim Hunter, Mike Billings and Jim Ziepolt for their roofing and cleaning the shed!

TPI Yard Sale: June 8th

As summer approached, Turkey Point hosted its island-wide yard sale on June 8th. Residents seized the opportunity to declutter and discover treasures among their neighbors’ items. The event was not only a chance to find unique bargains but also a wonderful way to promote sustainability through reuse and recycling.

TPPOA General Meeting: June 18th

The Turkey Point Property Owners Association (TPPOA) held its General Meeting on June 18th, gathering members virtually via Zoom and in person at the Kiwanis Club. Discussions included community updates, upcoming events, and initiatives aimed at enhancing life on the island. The main topic of discussion centered on the community suggested and approved updates/revisions to the covenants and an explanation of next steps and voting process. It was a great opportunity for residents to voice their ideas and concerns, ensuring our community continues to thrive and we move closer to approving necessary updates to our by-laws and covenants. It will be extremely important for all members of the community to vote. These updates will only pass if approved by 60% of the eligible voting population. There will be a 30-day voting period with many reminders to vote. To see minutes from the meeting visit the TPPOA General meeting minutes tab on our website.

Turkey Point Paddle Day: June 22nd

The highlight of June was Turkey Point Paddle Day, held on June 22nd. Water enthusiasts gathered bright and early to explore the scenic waters around TPI. Whether launching from the pier, beach, or their own yards, participants enjoyed a morning or afternoon of paddling, soaking in the beauty of our island from a unique perspective.

Looking ahead, Turkey Point continues to thrive with community spirit and engagement. The planning for Turkey Point Day, September 14th at Cloud Field, has begun! Keep an eye out for a sign-up genius to support this fun event!
